So, what exactly is Geography?

Geography is a combination of two Greek words, "geo" and "graphy", which mean "earth" and "description". So, Geography basically means describing earth. This includes the study of land, water, atmosphere and population. The study of Geography is split up into two main fields, which are physical and human. Physical Geography involves the study of landforms, climate, and water. You can find some great information on Physical Geography at this site. Human Geography, on the other hand, investigates the interactions between humans and the environment. This is only the introduction to a series of posts that will go into even greater detail. Be sure to download the Kids Discover Geography app to learn more.
